Perseus wasn't sure he nor his brother could take much more of his niece being missing. Deacon was slowly shutting himself off from the world again, barely speaking again. Only the first time, he hadn't told Perseus what was wrong. And Perce wasn't the type to go asking around. What his brother wanted to keep under wraps, he was more than welcome to.
"A virgin goddess. What a person to name your daughter after, Deac." He mumbled to himself, flipping through the book he'd gotten from the library. He'd gotten it to prove his brother wrong, but had ended up reading it instead.

Connor coughed, wrapping arms around his thin body as he stumbled unsteadily across the grounds of the area. He couldn't remember the last time he had eaten, and it was hard to even see straight anymore. He had tried secluding himself from people more, focusing on Ashley and taking care of him. Connor was more of a shell than he already had been when he first got here however long ago. He had lost track, slept and wandered for the most part now. Wings trailed along behind him, the tips ragged from brushing carelessly over the ground. He shivered, his body cold without energy to fuel it, veins prominent if one actually looked. Pained tears fell down his cheeks. Even moving was hurting anymore, and whatever they had injected into him wasn't working well without food.
He looked up warily as he spotted Deacon and his brother sitting in the lawn, and a scarily shaking hand dropped the little doll in Deacon's lap. Dark cirles beneath Connor's eyes made him look more a mess than he already did. He took a trembling step back, gaze lowered, never looking at the two of them as he drew in a rugged breath. He had given up.

Perseus looked over into Deacon's lap, then up at the boy. He flinched as the doll was put in his own lap, his brother walking across the lawn. "Why do you have Bandit's doll?" Perseus asked the dark haired boy, bending so he could look up at him. "If you have Bandit, you gotta give her back. Her daddy's not the same without her. He won't be mad. He just wants his baby." Perseus played with the doll's hair, then propped it in his lap like he would have Bandit. Little did he know, it wasn't just Bandit being missing that was taking a toll on his brother. Perseus didn't even know his brother was gay.
"I don't wanna watch my brother die.. And without his baby, he really is gonna die. That's why we gotta find her. He didn't live before she was born." He turned the page in the book, looking over the picture there.

Connor shivered, swaying and catching himself feebly. He watched Deacon walk off, and reached to wipe at his tear streaked face. He'd tried apologizing. He didn't know how to make things better. "I-..I don't h-h-have 'er..." He slurred. "Was o-outside my d-door..." He swallowed, rubbing at his face before wrapping his arms around his bare, sick body again. "Tell 'im I-I-I..I'm s-sorry..." He turned to leave, didn't want to cause the coroner and his brother any trouble. Maybe he would just go back to sleep until they dragged him out for more testing. Or to the morgue... Wings ruffled, and he whimpered in pain, legs giving out beneath him.

"Sorry for what?" Perseus asked, reading slowly over the page he was on. He'd never been like Deacon who could only concentrate on reading OR listening. He looked up as the boy fell, drawing his eyebrows together. "You know, sitting down gently seems to be far less painful. At least, in the twenty years I've been sitting, that's what I've gathered." He'd never really seen anyone fall without reason. He'd seen Deacon fall down a flight of stairs when their mom pushed him. Or when she hit him. But never for no reason.
"What's with you and Deac anyways? He acts like you have the plague or something. It's really weird, cause you're kinda cute. But he doesn't like boys anyways. But still. Do you have the plague?" Talking to Perseus for more than ten minutes would prove to anyone ADD really existed.

Connor swallowed, eyes closing as tears fell down his cheeks. But he didn't have the will to retort. It was a waste of strength to do so. He didn't move off his knees, panting softly. "F-feels like it.." He mumbled bitterly. Doesn't like boys... really? He sure as hell had kissed him. And such words slipped from his lips without much thought. He was a mess. "Maybe h-he..f-fucking shouldn't have k-kissed me, then..h-huh? Made me think things c-could actually be 'kay.. around here." It was too tiring to speak. He touched his chest, huffing breathlessly.

Perseus laughed, plucking a blade of grass from the ground to mark his place. "You really are sick, aren't you? We should get you to intensive care before you start saying Marilyn Monroe is walking around here." He picked up the doll, tucking it and his book under his arm before he walked to the boy. He held out his hand to him to help him up. "It really would be weird if we had another plague though. Wonder what it would do. Considering all of us are freaks now." He shrugged, looking over the boy before pushing away the thoughts that always came naturally when he looked at good looking people. They were always followed by Deacon's voice telling him 'I'll be damned if you turn out to be a fucking whore. You ruin the Rudman last name and you'll end up buried somewhere'. And Perseus didn't doubt it.

Connor coughed, thin fingers wrapping around the other male's hand as he struggled to his feet. He didn't know why he bothered. He really didn't care what they did to him anymore. Maybe that was the problem. "I'm n-not crazy..." He slurred, reaching to wipe at his face again. He tripped on a small hill in the ground, wings spreading to balance himseld.

"Sure you're not. We're vacationing in Cancun with my totally homosexual brother. No creepy hospital that locks you in cellars for miles. You just have the plague is all." Perseus teased, tucking his hand back into his pocket. "Your wings are really pretty. Can't say I got anything pretty from all this." He said, holding out his hand to the boy again. "I don't have cooties or anything."

"F-fuck you..." He whispered brokenly, fresh tears spilling over. He was so done with everybody. He just wanted to be with his little sister, his last breath in her arms, not in some hospital. He swallowed at the next words, shrugged. "Beauty i-isn't worth nothin' h-h-here." He rugged cough shook his thin body and he shrank back instinctively at the movement of the guy's hand before realizing what he was doing and taking it with his own cool one again.

"Maybe not to the staff. I'm the brother of the coroner; I know none of them really care. But a little beauty means a lot to the rest of us. We're in the same place as you are. It's nice knowing everything isn't needles and dark rooms." He said quietly, slipping his fingers between the boy's. He doubted it made the boy feel any better, but it certainly made Perseus feel better. He liked knowing that the world wasn't all bad, that there was still some sort of hope in all of this.

Connor shrugged. He wasn't so sure he had an eye for that beauty anymore. He didn't even know why he was actually letting this guy lead him to the hospital. Hesure as hell didn't have much trust left for anyone, and as fingers laced through his he grew wary, steps faltering as he slowed. It wouldn't matter. If they made him eat he would throw it up, whether he forced himself to or not. No matter the pain he was going through. Punishment for his sins, right?

Perseus slowed down as the boy did, looking over at him. "You're like my brother. Neither of you get anywhere in a hurry." He said, looking around. He could remember very few times Deacon had hurried anywhere. Mostly it had been when he suddenly remembered things. Or when Kera had called and said she'd went into labor. His brother had tripped down half the stairs to get to the front door. "Where'd you come from? Deac and me and Bandit are from New Orleans."

Connor began to cough, pausing until he could catch his breath and clear his throat. "S-...Seattle, Washington.." He huffed, the sound husky as it passed his lips. He was so malnutritioned, exhausted, that he could barely stand without clinging to the other, oldermale. His head was spinning and he closed his eyes as the dizziness washed over him, his breaths shuddering irregularly. "I n-....I need to..sit..." He slurred.

"Really? I never went there. We went to LA for awhile while Deac went to school. But then I moved back home. I don't like any place that isn't home. Even with my brother there." Perseus shrugged, resorting to sucking on his lip. "So sit." He told the boy, letting go of his hand. He pulled Bandit's doll from under his arm, playing with it's hair. It almost hurt to look at it without her there.
