Chelsea nodded. She knew exactly how hard it was. "I know. It was hard for me too. I had two babies in the same bed as me for the longest time. But it wasn't the same as having you there with your arms around me." He'd meant so much to her. Leaving had almost killed her. But she'd thought she was doing the right thing. And admitting the was wrong she didn't like doing either. "I really want this to work.. No matter how long we have to work on it."

"I'm trying.. I've bit my tongue quite a bit today." He began to trail his fingers up and down her arm and he let his eyes closed. "I don't want you to think I'm not here for you, because I am. But they shouldn't have to put up with our bickering if we can't get along.." Cameron spoke with caution, not wanting to upset her. He was comfortable, and he didn't want to have to go and sleep by himself.

"Yeah.." Chelsea mumbled, turning over. She pulled the blankets closer. It seemed like Cameron was insisting on pushing her away. And if that's what he wanted, she wasn't going to argue. He'd always deserved better than a girlfriend like her. She was sure he'd found a couple while she was gone. Mikey started to cry and she got up, climbing into bed next to him. "Shh.. It's okay, Mikes. Nothing's gonna get you." She said quietly, gently running her fingers through his hair.

He sighed as he felt her move. When she crawled into bed with Mikey, Cameron rolled over to face the wall. He was half tempted to just go, but it would only worsen the situation. Not to mention, Chelsea would just keep taking everything he said and twist it into some way of him not wanting her. Propping his head on his arm, his eyes starred blankly at the wall. Shouldn't he be the one with the trust issues? Shouldn't she be the one trying to make up for leaving? Exhaling deeply, he tried to switch over to a new set of thoughts, but everything just came back to Chels.

Mikey finally woke, and she hugged him close, gently rubbing his back. She hummed an old nursery rhyme to him, her eyes closing. She wasn't sure she wanted to lay back beside Cameron. She was tired of feeling like the problem. The problem was she wanted to be with someone who couldn't get along with her. And it felt awful. Everything she'd ever loved was pulling away from her. Even the kids were growing up and starting to do their own things.

Rolling to his back, he placed both hands beneath his head. His eyes were closed, but he wasn't asleep. He could hear Chelsea humming, and it cleared his head till the rhyme was over. Cameron began to count in his head, but he had to mouth the word to stay focused on the numbers.

Chelsea realized Mikey was asleep, and figured she may as well go back her makeshift bed. The last thing she wanted was Cameron throwing up in her face that she'd left again. She laid down in the spot she was before, tucking her arm under her head.

Cameron was mouthing the number one hundred when he felt her come back to the blankets. He could feel that she was only inches away. "Can I please hold you?" He asked quietly. It was why he had stayed, but she didn't seem to notice that. His head turned to look at her, waiting for an answer.

"Sure." She said quietly, looking up at Adrienne who was peeking over the railing of the bed. She guessed Mikey had woken her up because it wasn't but a second later that she was laying back down again, humming to herself. Chelsea was sure she was up there twirling her hair around her finger. She closed her eyes, chewing on her lip.

Sighing softly, Cameron turned to his side and watched her for a moment. He was ready to say something, but he stopped and reached out to pull her close. He wanted to fall asleep with Chelsea in his arms and feel like everything was okay, but it wasn't. They had problems and he didn't think they would work out soon. She didn't even seem like she wanted to talk.

Chelsea slipped her fingers in the spaces between his, realizing just how little had changed. They'd gotten older, grown apart, but some things still fit together like pieces to a puzzle. She wanted this to work so badly it hurt. But she knew a kiss and a sorry wouldn't be enough to blow this over. A whole lot of talking, crying, disappointment, and bandaids might. But she didn't think it'd be easy.

It wasn't like they had a way of escaping each other if things crumbled. The hospital was big, but Cameron wouldn't stay away from Adrienne or even Mikey. He nuzzled closer, kissing the back of her head softly. His mind was cluttered, but it didn't stop him from drifting asleep next to her. At least when he woke, he knew she would be there.

Chelsea finally fell asleep, waking up to the sound of the kids talking by her head. She opened her eyes, Mikey playing with her hair. 'Morning mommy.' He told her with a smile. She almost started crying, realizing just how sweet and innocent they were. She smiled, turning over onto her back. He climbed up, laying on her chest. Adrienne was busy running her fingers through Cameron's hair, watching him intently.

Cameron's eyes opened to see Adrienne watching him. He chuckled, but it came out as more of a grumble because his throat was dry. "Morning, princess." He smirked and turned slightly to pulled the little girl onto his lap. "I'm going to go get a drink. Do you want one?" His eyes moved over Chelsea's body before connecting with her gaze.

'Apple juice.' Adrienne told him. She wrapped her arms tightly around his neck. Chelsea smiled, gently running her hand over Mikey's back. She nudged him gently, and he looked up at Cameron. 'Morning, mister.' He told him shyly, clearly still half asleep. "He likes chocolate milk." She told Cameron, her eyes slowly tracing his face. "And you still have drool on your jaw."
