It had been a long day. Deacon almost hated long days. It seemed everyone else had these interesting stories to tell their children one day, and here he was, poking dead bodies for a cause of death. He was probably the only dad in the world who didn't have a story to tell. And long days made it that much more irritating than it would have been. He worked so hard for basically nothing. He chewed on his lip, looking down at Bandit. She'd passed out awhile ago in his lap, her arms folded and her head atop them on the library table. He smiled a bit, turning the page in his book. He tapped his pen on the book as he read.

Jordan wandered slowly towards the library, pulling his hair into a pony tail and tying a bandanna under his bangs before he blew them from his face. He had finished a shift at the coffee shop, and was bringing a coffee to where he could only guess Deacon was after not finding him in the morgue. Plus Derek had told them, though the male seemed annoyed with everyone since his little incident of being beaten. Jordan couldn't help but feel bad. The anger had been enough to drive him off quickly, hoping Deacon's emotion would be enough to stand. He smiled as he spotted him, covering his eyes gently and setting the coffee down before kissing the top of his head. "Studying?"

Deacon smiled to himself when his eyes were covered, that sweet accent echoing in his head. "Always." He replies, reaching up to pat his head. "You know it's boring when it puts the two year old asleep." He said, nodding towards the little girl slumped in his lap. He scribbled something down in his long, drawn out cursive, then picked up his coffee to take a sip. "Hopefully your day's been better. Any talking teapots or dancing spoons?" He asked, glancing over at the boy for a moment. It didn't matter what he did; Jordan always looked amazing.

Jordan laughed sheepishly, softly, and pulled a chair over to sit down. "No." He drawled with another smile. "It was pretty quiet, calm. Until I walked in on Derek." He raked a hand through his bangs, the fluster of such intense emotion finally having left him. The turmoil in his head from Derek had faded and he was glad. He reached to run his fingers along Bandit's hair.

"He's been upset. It's okay." He said quietly. He didn't know what to say. Derek was hurt by how they'd acted. And he didn't really blame him. They went too far sometimes. But if they didn't know by now that Deacon would kill them for hurting his baby like that, they were insane. "I'm glad she looks better with those curls than me and PJ do." He said quietly. "You should see her when she gets out the bath. You run your fingers through her hair and it's just ringlets for days."

Jordan nodded slowly in understanding, then smiled as he gazed down at the little red head. "She's so adorable..." He murmured softly, relaxing from a bit of tension still in his shoulders. He rested his head against Deacon absently as he gazed at Bandit, quiet and curious. "So couldn't have got her good looks without you," He murmured, cheeks heating up.

Deacon gently rested his hand on Jordan's knee, writing with his left hand on his papers. "You can't even pull that." He chuckled, shaking his head. "She looks nothing like me. That's all Kera. And PJ's eyes. She may as well have been the milk man's kid." He squeezed his knee gently, turning the page in his book. He reached over, gently tipping Jordan's chin back so he could give him a quick kiss. He turned back to his papers, chewing on his lip again. "You can't have babies. We don't need anymore of that accent running around. Breaking hearts like you own the place."

Jordan smirked. "I can too." He complained. "And you can't do anything about it." He bit his lip as his chin was lifted, tenderly meeting the kiss. His blush returned and he ducked his face, smiling. "It's not that big a deal..." He insisted softly, his attmpt to make it unnoticeable only making it heavier. He shifted his weight, chuckling.

Deacon smirked a bit, gently running his hand up Jordan's leg to take his hand. He pulled their hands into his lap, slowly running his thumb over the top of Jordan's hand. It never failed to amaze him how much Jordan was starting to mean to him. He gently ran a hand over Bandit's wing, trying to get the glitter out of it. "This kid.."

Jordan tensed at the initial touch up his leg, but forced himself to relax gradually. He did so fully once his hand was taken, smiling and snuggling a little close to Deacon, hanging tightly to the male's slightly thicker hand. Blue eyes turned to Bandit and he laughed softly. "She wanted to be an angel," He insisted at Deacon's complaint of the glitter in her wings. He nuzzled Deacon's shoulder, glad his own didn't hurt so much and was healing over nicely.

"I highly doubt angels have glitter. Glitter is worse than herpes. It never goes away." He complained. Being so close to Jordan was nice. He'd felt the boy tense a couple of times, but that aside, he'd been doing well. "She actually really likes you a lot. Which is surprising, considering she hates me giving anyone else attention." He dusted his hand off on his jeans.

Jordan laughed sheepishly. "I guess I do't teach her to attack daddy with glitter then," He teased. The next comment brought a gentle, surprised smile to his lips. "Yeah?" He nestled close, the fingers of his free hand running over the feathers at the tips of Bandit's wings. He was beyond content, could have sat here curled up against Deacon the rest of the day if he had the choice.

Deacon nodded, gently running his hand over her small back. He was glad he could at least give her a loose definiton of family now. She opened her eyes to look over at Jordan, then climbed into his lap. She curled up against his chest, sucking noisily on her fingers until she fell asleep again. Deacon gently let go of his hand so Jordan could hold her, turning his attention back to his books.

Jordan smiled down at her, gently wrapping his arms around her when she climbed into his lap.He held her close to his chest, keeping his head on Deacon's shoulder and scanning over what he was reading curiously. He was perfectly fine with remaining quiet, just sitting here curled up.

Deacon read over a couple more pages, taking a few notes before he closed the books. He got up, putting them back where they belonged. He gathered his papers, holding them under his arm. "You got her? She's heavy when you're trying to walk." He said quietly, gently playing with the end of Jordan's hair.
