You have been ordered here because it is believed that we have a solution to your problems. I understand you came here human, but you won't be for long. After your first test and fourty-eight hours in a cell under watch, your treatment will be based on your evaluation, which is enclosed in this envelope. I understand that we told you this was a rehabilitation center for anybody with any problem at all. The truth is- now that you’re here, there’s no turning back. You see, while there are dorms, dinner halls, gyms and arcades; while you can go to school or work for store credits, Chaspel Heights is not what we glamorized it to be. We’re terribly sorry to admit that little lie we weaved, but you are under our custody now. Some of you may be thinking of running at this point, but you're already fighting a losing battle- the gates are electric and your phones only work with the others in this community. We are an organization testing human subjects for far greater purposes and telling people that would not have worked in attracting the proper attention we required. No, you aren’t really here to get better; you’re here to be tested on. Matters are going to occur, not all of them pretty. You can’t run. But don’t worry, you’ll live. Or most of you will. You see, Reader, we need you. I am sorry to say that you are going to witness things you my never wanted to witness or believe, and quite honestly, most of those things will be witnessed through the bars of a holding cell. So whether you entered here voluntarily, or you were sent here, we would suggest you get unpacked and learn to adjust to your new lifestyle. Dinner begins at six tonight, and your presence is mandatory. Best regards, Dr. Chaspel |
