His hand travled in circles as he rubbed her back softly. It was the first peaceful moment in awhile, and who would have guessed it would be with Chelsea. Resting his cheek against the top of her head, he inhaled deeply as she mummbled into his neck. Everyone and their momma knew Chelsea had a tight grip on his heart, but she always seemed to hold him at arm lengths at times. "I'm not suprised by that," He whispered as he tightened his grip just a bit more. "It'd probably be better to take him back inside.." Cameron added after a moment of silence, still trying to be slightly cautious of her.

It went without saying she cared more for Cameron than anything, except maybe her kids. She'd always thought the world of him. "Can't fuck in the hallway, Cameron." She said sassily, chewing on her lip as she tried to figure out how to get up and not hurt Mikey. She carefully pulled herself to her feet, holding Mikey close to her chest. She laid him down, carefully tucking him back in. She walked back outside, leaving the door open just a crack to listen for Mikey. "He.. sees things that aren't there, so I kind of have to always keep an eye on him." She said, sitting down next to him. She would have taken his lap, but she didn't want to seem forward, or needy.

"I wasn't even thinking of that," Cameron smirked in reply. Chelsea had only known him as a teen, he had gotten a little bit more mature since then. His eyes followed her untill she disappeared back into the room. He went back to leaning against the brick wall, and his arms rested on his knees. "Why'd you come here.." He asked as he felt her take a seat next to him. Cameron knew the add was completely different than what was going on, but hee still didn't understand why she would come here instead of coming back home.

Chelsea looked over at his question, slowly running her hand up her arm. "I.. uh.. They told me they would help Mikey.. And that you were here and you weren't mad, you just wanted to see us. I guess I was dumb thinking they could fix him.. I don't let them touch the children except to check them when they're sick." She played with one of her fingers, picking the old nail polish off of it. She sometimes couldn't believe she was so dumb to believe them. But she wasn't the best at decisions.

He yawned and shook his head. It was almost impossible for him to make her feel bad when she wasn't pissing him off. It was her face with her petite features. She seemed so sweet, it could almost make him forget just how good she could work his nerves. "I don't know what to do with you.." Cameron spoke up as he caught her gaze. "I was so pissed when you left. Do you know how hard it was to tell my mom you had just up and left with Adrienne?" A long sigh passed his lips. Just like Cameron, Chelsea had charmed her way into his mom's heart. But she wasn't as naive about the tricks Chelsea would as he was. His dad always said his mother and Chelsea could have been cut from the same material.

Chelsea swallowed hard, lowering her gaze to her lap. "Probably as hard as it was to tell my mom I was pregnant.. My God, she was so pissed at me. She didn't speak to me for a month." She played with the end of her pajama pants, pulling a loose string. She didn't know if she'd ever told Cameron just how hard it was to live with her mother until she moved in with him. The moment the woman had found out she was pregnant, she'd made her life a living hell. 'You'll never be anything, Chelsea. You're always being a fool.' She'd told her. "I think I did pretty good, all things considered. I mean.. I raised two kids on my own.. I taught them to read and write and I potty trained them both by myself.. They never missed a meal, even if I did. And they certainly never got anything less than the absolute best. It was hard. But I've always been a bit of a hard head when it came to what I wanted. I might not have gott- been with you to begin with if I wasn't." She didn't like the whole 'have gotten you' thing. She had him and she was stupid enough to throw it away.

He found her voice to be quite soothing when she wasn't yelling. It was a melody he had gotten use to through all their late night calls and him sneaking over to see her. Cameron stretched his legs out in front of him as he reached over to pull Chelsea into his lap. His arms held onto her tightly, and he rested his head on her shoulder. "I missed playing with your hair till you fell asleep. It was the only time I knew I'd never get yelled at." He stuck his tongue out playfully, teasing her about the last part.

Chelsea smiled as he teased her, reaching out to grab his tongue. She'd missed being in his lap, missed having things like this. She'd been so happy with him before, and she regretted leaving him in the first place. She rested her hand on his chest, drawing her knees closer. "Who says you can't still play with my hair?" She asked, reaching up to run her fingers through his dark locks. He was just as amazing now as he had been then, and she was grateful for that. She didn't know what she'd do if he came here with a girl on his arm or a ring on his finger.

He leaned into her hand as it stroked through his hair. Cameron had almost lost it the day he found out Chelsea had vanished into thin air. He would come home wasted just about every night, and his parents let him. It's probably what kept him from falling off the edge. "Chelsea, I need you to understand that I came here for Adrienne. I don't know if I can handle waking up and you be gone again. If anyone could come up with a way to get out of here, it would be you."

Chelsea's smile fell, and she glared at Cameron. "You're still the same dick you were before." She spat, getting to her feet. "You wanna play hell, we can play, pretty boy. But bear in mind, you selfish oaf. I always get my way. And I don't care who I have to hurt to get it. You're the first person I'd step on, you prick." She walked into the room, tempted to slam the door. But she didn't dare. She didn't want to wake the kids. She felt along the wall in the darkness, kneeling down on her blankets to spread them out again before she laid down.

Cameron groaned and let her go. Being honest with her always caused trouble. What'd she want him to do? Forget she ran out, hid for four years, and then the first time he sees here, she goes off. Sometimes it was like walking on egg shells with her. This must have been one of those sometimes. He ran his hands through his hair before getting up to his feet. Cam knew he couldn't just her stay mad at him after not seeing her for so long. Chelsea meant a lot to him, even if she never exactly saw that.
Dusting off his hands, he walked quietly into the room. "Chels don't be mad. I'm sorry." He whispered as he got on his hands and knees to crawl on the floor. It took awhile, but soon he had stumbled upon her with his hand. "Please don't do this tonight." He inched closer, running his thumb across her jaw line when he found her face.

Chelsea gritted her teeth when she heard Cameron speak. He sure had some nerve, coming into her room like they were dating or something. He'd made it clear he wasn't here for her. "My children are trying to sleep and it isn't going to be you waking up with them in the morning." She said bitterly, pushing his hand away. She turned over, wiping the tears from her cheeks. Nothing had changed between the two of them. It would always be a tug of war over Adrienne and that was it. "If I would have known all you wanted from me was sex and a daughter, I would have never spoken to you." She rested her forehead against the wall, biting back tears.

He was shocked when she pushed his hand and made a remark that held no truth at all. "You know that's not why I was with you. Adrienne wasn't even planned." All he wanted to do was calm her down, he should have known better. Crawling back to the door, Cameron decided to leave her alone. There was no point in trying to talk her down if she didn't believe him. Once he was back in the hall, he returned to his seat and slumped against the wall. There was no understanding with her. If she didn't like what was happening, she would do her best to stop it. He had made it clear she wouldn't get away from him this time.

Chelsea heard the door open and close, and finally turned over on her back as she started to sob. "You manage to fuck everything up.." She said quietly, walking to the bathroom slowly. She flipped the light on, closing the door a bit so the room wasn't too dark or too bright. She laid back down, tucking her arm under her head as a make shift pillow. Maybe her dad was right, oil and water really never did mix. They just made a baby and ended up bickering until the very end. Sometimes it looked hopeful, and then something had to come along and shake them up again.

He rested his head against the cool brick and slowly closed his eyes. He could never understand why Chelsea and him fought so much. He lover her more than he could possibly imagine, but it still didn't make a difference. She still pushed his buttons, and no matter how many times she did it, he would give into his anger everytime. He couldn't lie, he did the same to her. They both contributed to the volatile relationship. They both knew it too. They just never changed.
