Chelsea laid there for a moment or two before she finally got up again, walking to the door. She opened it slowly, chewing on her lip as she looked down at Cameron. "If I promise not to run away tonight, can I have just one night?" She asked quietly, running her finger over the door jam. She wanted things back the way they were more than anything. But she wasn't sure the two of them would get along. Not for long, anyways. There was a couple of months of complete bliss before all hell broke loose again. That was about as far as they'd gotten to civil. "Please..?"

It was easy to see that Chelsea and Cameron weren't a perfect match. If he chased her, she pushed him away. If she chased him, he pushed her away. There were times where it felt like they were on the same page, but it never lasted long. His eyes fluttered open at the sound of her voice. The tiny bit of light in the hall highlighted her face. The look on her face was one he knew pretty well. Cameron hated to see her cry. It tore him up on the inside, especially when he was the one that caused it.
Cameron dusted off his jeans as he stood and turned to face her. "Chelsea.." He breathed, "I didn't mean to make you cry. I'm sorry.." He took her hand in his and pulled her close. "Please, don't cry." He mumbled. He kissed her forehead lightly before leaning back to look into her eyes.

Chelsea gently wrapped her arms around him. She wasn't going to tell him it was okay. It would just make him think what he said was okay, that she was alright with only being around for their daughter. He meant more to her than just a 'see you when I see you' type of deal. And it killed her to think that's all he wanted. "Can we just go to bed?" She asked quietly, looking past him. All she wanted was to be able to fall asleep in his arms, wake up and have a normal morning the next day with their daughter and her son. She didn't wait for an answer, just took his hand and pulled him back into the room. She felt along the wall with her free hand, sitting down on her blankets once she got there. She crawled over to her spot by the wall and laid down, looking out into the dim light at him.

Silently, he complied as Chelsea pulled him into the room and across the floor. Cameron watched her for a moment when she settled near the wall. He still didn't know what had set her off, but all he wanted to do was to crawl in beside her and go to sleep. He pushed his bangs off to the side and he slipped out of his shoes before laying down beside her. Reaching out to Chelsea, he worked one arm under her legs and the other under her back to bring her closer to him. He had forgotten just how small she was. A smile played across his face as he laid a blanket across her body. "Good night," Cameron whispered when he settled into the blankets with his arms wrapped gently around her.

Chelsea let him pull her closer, just his touch enough to calm her down from whatever rampage she was about to go on. She closed her eyes, tucking her head under his chin and her arms to his chest as she drew her legs up. She always fit perfectly against him, except when she had a basketball of a belly being pregnant. "Night.." She said quietly, listening to his breathing. It wasn't long before she was sound asleep, her hands balled into fists around his shirt to keep him close. For someone who had been the one doing the running, she was oddly terrified of being left by him again.

It felt normal falling asleep next to Chelsea, as if she had never left. But Cameron had never fallen asleep in bed with another girl. It wasn't as if he didn't sleep around though. She was just the only girl who ever stayed the night. He slept soundly through night. His arms were still wrapped around Chelsea, holding her as close as he could.
For no reason at all, he woke the next morning. He smirked to himself as he looked down to see her fingers holding tightly to his shirt. Cameron kept quiet, not wanting to wake her or the kids.

Chelsea didn't wake until she heard Mikey crying again. She quickly stumbled to his bed, pulling him down into her arms. "Shh.." She sleepily ran her fingers through his hair, rocking him back and forth gently. "Mommy's got you." She sat back on her heels, looking down at him. He sniffled and rubbed at his eye before he got to his feet, walking to the bathroom to wash his face. She pulled herself up carefully, standing on her tip toes to look into Adrienne's bunk. "Good morning, beautiful." She smiled, running her fingers through the girl's hair. She put her on her feet so she could go wash her face with her brother. Chelsea made her way to the dresser to get all of their clothes for the day and put away the clean ones she'd just washed. "If you two wash up fast enough, we can go get breakfast!" She called.

Cameron sat up, stretching his arms as she got the kids up. He had to admit, she was doing better than he thought. Not that he expected her to be a horrible mother. No, he knew better than that. Chelsea could be a sweetheart if she wanted to be. A smile crawled onto his face as he watched her move about. "Do I get breakfast?" His voice was groggy from sleep. He stood, knowing that if he laid back down he'd fall asleep.

Chelsea looked over as he spoke. "Unless you want to starve. Doesn't matter to me either way." She shrugged, grabbing her clothes as the kids came out of the bathroom. She left the door open a crack, knowing better than to shut it with two kids. She washed her face and combed her hair before she got herself dressed. She walked out to look for her shoes, checking to make sure the kids were dressed properly. "Find your shoes and I'll tie them for you." She said, sitting on the edge of the bed to pull her shoes on. "You're not going to breakfast with us with drool all over your face." She told Cameron.

With a roll of his eyes, Cameron bent down and slipped his shoes back on. "Okay, mom." He offered one of his toothy grins before disappearing into the bathroom. When he returned, his face had been wiped clean and his bed hair was slightly more tammed. "This good enough?" He held his arms out and did a little turn around.

She wanted to smile at him, show him just how cute she still thought he was, how every little thing still made her heart race. But she couldn't. He wasn't here for her. "It'll do." She said flatly, making sure the kids had their shoes on the right feet before she helped them down, opening the door for them. She watched them dart out of the room, following close behind. "Don't get too far ahead." She called, folding her arms over her chest.

Sighing, Cameron closed the door tightly before taking a few quick steps to catch up to Chelsea. "Are you not goin to smile at me anymore?" He asked. His eyes would alternate between watching the kids and watching Chelsea. He honestly didn't know what he had said wrong last night, but he was unsure of her mood. Pissing her off was the last thing Cam wanted to do today.

Chelsea glanced over at him when he spoke, then turned her attention back to her children. She was bitter from all this, all the tension and feelings and hurt and disappointment and fear. She'd bottled it inside for four years, and had no intentions of letting it out. "I don't have a reason to smile at you, Cameron." She muttered, bending down to pick up a penny. She walked a little faster to put it in Mikey's hand, then dropper back again. "You're not gonna put up with me for her, I know that. And I don't expect you to. But you're not just taking her. You're not showing favorites to either of them."

"I didn't say I wasn't going to put up with you. I said I don't think I can handle you waking up and being gone." He paused, quickly glancing over at Chelsea to read her face. "I just mean I don't think we should just jump back into each other's lives." His eyes coasted to the ground, watching the floor move below. "Like in a relationship.." Cameron added. Neither of them were saints when they were together, and it just wouldn't be right to the kids if all they did was fight. Taking it slow would help stop all of the arguments, right?

"I don't want you in my life. And I don't want a relationship. And maybe you should've thought of that last night when you thought I should be in your lap." She rounded the corner, jogging to open the door for the kids. They walked in, walking over to the sink. She helped each of them up in turn, showing them how to wash their hands before she sat them on their feet and turned to the next. She handed them each a paper towel to dry their hands off with, following slowly after them to throw her's away.
