Lorin didn't bother with a watch. There were watches with audio features for blind people, he knew, but he still didn't bother. Even so, without any concrete way of measuring time, he was positive that he had been rotting away in this damned waiting room for close to an hour. His ass was numb. His ass was numb! This was several varieties of 'not okay' and Lorin was seriously beginning to lose patience.
His white cane was beating out an increasingly erratic tattoo on the floor and his face was twisted with irritation. "Seriously, people!?" he demanded of the ceiling, "Who do I have to kill-blow-whatever to get finished with this stupid checkup nonsense?" Explosives would be awesome right about now. He could chuck them at random and just let something happen. Surely they'd notice him then.

Colton had finally awoke to Trayce sitting next to his hospital bed in tears. Apparently his lungs had collapsed and he had been out for a few days. They were risking a lot, taking him off the respirator, had oxygen through his nose right now. The coroner's assistant, Derek, wanted to see how he was breathing on his own so they could decided if he needed gills, and if so where. He hung onto Derek's arm with one hand, the other holding the rolling stand for his oxygen. They didn't have a room open for evaluation and Derek had insisted they not do it in the morgue, so Colton stood shirtless, wheezing breathlessly as Derek felt slowly along his ribs and took notes.
His eyes flicked towards the persistant tapping, one brown and one a fogged and sightless blue, eaten away by bleach when he was younger. A smile graced Colton's lips as he heard the blind man complain. While Colton didn't have the best people skills from living on the streets, he had enough. He hugged the soft, stuffed bear from Trayce closer to himself, teeth clicking against snakebites. "Get used..to it. They're rarely on time until you're..dead." He heard Derek scoff and smirked.
