Deacon walked into the bathroom to wash his face, then made his way to the small dresser he shared with Bandit to pull on a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. He pulled on his shoes, leaving the room to go grab a cup of coffee. He didn't think patients got coffee. He wasn't even sure he was supposed to leave the lounge with it. But he made his way to Connor's room anyways, knocking gently on his door. He pushed his glasses higher on his nose, smiling as a nurse walked past.

Connor stirred faintly at the knock, had been awake for a little bit now. "Come i-in.." He mumbled, not bothering move from the bed. He didn't feel good, knew better than to think that would get him out of whatever testing they were doing. Considering it was only his third day or so however, it was his first 'test'. It would be far from what he thought it was. He reached to push his hair from his sweaty forehead, his breaths faints as he struggled just to force them in and out.

Deacon opened the door slowly, walking in. He looked at the boy as he closed the door behind him. He took a sip of his coffee, his green eyes wandering over his daughter. She looked peaceful asleep, the picture of innocence. He wished he could have not a worry in the world like her. But he knew better than to think that. He'd never be able to get away with something like that. He knew too much for his own good. "You okay?" He asked, wondering if it was just his nerves getting to him. Everyone seemed nervous their first day of testing.

Connor just shrugged, sniffing softly. "'M n-never okay," He mumbled, shivering. He hugged them blanket closer, but was relaxed more than he had been last night. His nerves internally however were high, not comfortable with the idea of being poked and prodded by anyone other than himself.

"I don't think anyone around here can be called 'okay'.." He mumbled, then took another long drink of his coffee. He looked around the room, pushing his glasses back up on his nose. He finally walked over to where the boy lay, putting his coffee down so he could pick up his sleeping daughter. She started to cry, then buried her face in his neck, holding tightly to his shirt. He leaned down, picking up his cup again. "Did she sleep well?" He asked, not bothering to look at Connor.

Connor tensed uneasily as the older male approached, watching his every move warily. "Y-yeah, she did.." He smiled the slightest and relaxed a bit more before shifting his weight and sitting up, the blankets falling away from his thin body as he did so.

Deacon slowly rubbed her back, listening to her whimper in complaint to being woken up. "If you go ahead and get dressed, I'll walk you where you're going." He offered, finishing off his coffee. He folded the cup, then tucked it into his back pocket where he knew he would probably forget it was there and end up washing it with his jeans. "Or I can just go drop Bandit off with my brother and go to work.. Either or." He shrugged, chewing on his lip as he looked down.

Connor hesitated. "Please.." He murmured, forcing a weak smile. He kicked his legs off the bed, stumbling feebly. He held onto the bed for support, searching through his things for a shirt and jeans. He continuously looked uneasily at adeacon as he dressed and brushed his hair out before taking his medication. He set the bottle on the bedside table, slipping into his shoes before he started coughing.

Deacon looked away as the boy got dressed, not wanting him to feel awkward with him standing there. He knew getting dressed around someone was bad enough, even worse when someone far older than you is sitting there in the same room than you. "I'm gonna get Bandit dressed.." He said quietly, leaving the room. He walked down to his room, carefully getting the small girl dressed before they started back towards Connor's room, waiting for him outside the boy's door.

Connor nodded as they left. He opened the door, drawing in a wheezing breath. He rested a hand on the wall, closing the door behind him before looking up at Deacon. He wiped at his eyes, vision blurred. "Ugh.." He mumbled before he crossed his arms pver his chest, looking down at the floor.

Deacon walked slowly beside Connor, holding Bandit on his feet. She smiled up at him, her blue eyes bright and happy despite her having been so cranky earlier. He smiled at a few nurses who passed, hoping it didn't seem odd, him walking with the boy. He stopped at a nurse's station, letting Bandit go with her favorite nurse before he gently took Connor's elbow to steer him to a different hall. He quickly let go of him, putting his hands in his pockets. "Did they give you a room number yet or..?"

Connor flinched absently, but when Deacon let go instead of doing anything else, he relaxed, following his around the corner and down the hall. He cleared his throat, shaking his head. "N-no.." He hadn't exactly been easy to deal with, anyway. His stomach cramped up and he gasped, stopping abruptly and backing to the wall. "Nnh.." He mumbled, drawing in sharp breaths until the pain passed.

Deacon nodded slowly, glancing back as he stopped. He bit his lip, messing with the keys in his pocket. He hated knowing he couldn't help unless the boy fell out. And even then, he wasn't allowed to do much more than give him CPR and hope for the best. "They usually just assign rooms so they don't get you confused with someone else and feed you crabs when you're allergic or something.." He mumbled, looking down at his old shoes. He could still see a few blood splatters dried onto the green shoes.

Connor swallowed, carefully pushing off the wall and catching up to him again. "Huh," He mumbled in response, keeping his arms crossed over himself again. He rubbed at his nose, frowning as they reached doors in the hospital and a nurse took his name and gave him a tag he didn't understand. He turned it over, unaware of the nurse telling Deacon he would be attempted as Enhanced considering his check up didn't favor much else, but that she could only hope his body would react at all. He grunted as a doctor grabbed his wrist, eyes flashing fearfully as he was led to a room of beds and sat down. He swatted at the guys hands, glaring at him as he watched him preparing neddles before approaching to check his vitals.
Connor winced briefly at the touch of a stethescope, but didn't so much as blink with each needle injection. "That's it for the day." He moved to get up, growling in agitation as he was led out of a room a different way, then handcuffed. "What the f-fuck?!" He snarled, panicking. The door that opened to rooms of barred cells only increased his panick and he tried pulling harshly away. "You'll be spending the next two days in testing and observation, and will only be allowed out at meals with an escort."
He gagged, fighting back as he was forced into a cell and it was locked. Blue eyes flicked around, panicking when someone somewhere across from him literally climbed up the bars. "What i-is this? You're fucking sick!" He pounded on the bars, terrified. Even the coroner had to have known..

Deacon shook his head as the nurse tried talking to him, reaching up to clamp his hands over his hears so he didn't have to listen. "I don't care. What you do is none of my business. I deal with them when they're dead. Keep your voodoo magic to yourself." He mumbled, walking back down to the morgue. He had never walked anyone down to this wing of the hospital. He hated the way it felt, how you could hear people screaming and fighting. And how there was always blood stains somewhere on the floor. It made him sick to imagine what went on in those rooms. Perseus had tried to tell him many times about what they did, and he ignored him like he'd ignored the nurse. He didn't want to feel responsible when Connor or someone else ended up on a slab.
He unlocked the door to the morgue, walking to the board to see who he had to work on today. He pulled them out of the freezer, dragging the stretcher to the slab. He had no idea where his assistant was, and he frankly didn't care. He pulled on his lab coat, then his gloves and mask before he moved the body to operate.
