Cameron stopped, letting them disappear into the cafeteria. She wasn't being fair. He didn't vanish into thin air with their daughter. So, why did he feel like he did something wrong? With a heavy sigh, he opened the door and began to look around. It wasn't hard to find her now that he knew she was here. Instead of walking over to them, he made his way to an empty table and sat. He hoped Chelsea would come sit with him, but he wasn't sure if he would care if she didn't.

Chelsea helped the two children to get their food, grabbing an apple for herself. She let them choose their own table, cursing her luck when they each took a seat across from Cameron. 'Figures..' She thought bitterly, sitting down in the empty seat next to him. She bit into her apple, watching the two kids start to dig into their food. 'We play with you today?' Mikey asked him, holding out his juice for Cameron to help him open it.

Cameron smiled, taking the juice box in his hand. "Up to your mom. She's not really a fan of mine at the moment." Popping the straw into the little hole, he handed it back to Mikey. He peeked over at Chelsea before looking back to the kids. "I'd love to play with you two though." At least then someone would enjoy his silliness. Chelsea was a stubborn girl, but it didn't bother him. If she wanted to be cranky, fine. He'd put up with it for now. Hopefully, she wouldn't be too cranky to ignore.

Chelsea watched him with Mikey, then took another bite of her apple. "I don't care as long as you're back before dark." She said. She really had no intentions of going. She could think of a million things she'd rather do than babysit Cameron. He was a big boy. He could handle two kids so long as they came back. "Mikey doesn't like the swings. And Adrianne doesn't like the merry go round. So don't put them on those."

Cameron huffed, he wasn't a fan of the way she was acting. He hadn't done a thing wrong, but yet, he was the one tip-toeing around to not start a fight. What was the point of inviting him into the room last night if all she was going to do was freeze him out. Resting his head in his palm, he watched Adrienne and Mikey. "What would you two like to do first?" At least she wasn't going to come. She'd probably watch him like a hack and say everything he did was wrong. Cameron pushed the thoughts away, letting his toothy grin return to his face.

The two children looked at each other like they were reading each other's minds, then promptly exclaimed at the same time 'SWIM!' Neither of them knew how to do much more than just walk in the shallow end, and if they got any deeper, they were bound to freak out. But that was Cameron's job to find out. Chelsea finished her apple, then got up to toss it in the trash. She took her seat back beside her former lover, folding her hands together in her lap.
'I want a milkshake.' Mikey said, then took a bite out of his toast. Adrienne nodded in agreement, reaching over to push his juice closer to him so he wouldn't have to reach for it.
"You're not allowed to have one until after dinner or you won't eat." Chelsea said, picking at the nail polish on her thumbnail, her gaze dropped to her lap.

Cameron chuckled as the two squealed. His eyes glanced over to Chelsea when she got him. He didn't see why she felt like he wouldn't have taken care of her. It was true, he had been mean, but it was obvious, she was no saint either. Covering his mouth as he yawned, Cameron tried to stay out of the milkshake debate. She would say, he had no say in the matter. "Do you want me to bring them to you for dinner or.." He trailed off, trying his best not to make her hate him anymore than she did.

Neither of them had been saints, true. But it wasn't Cameron who was feeling the guilt now that they were still together. She'd been stupid, and it hurt to know she'd ruined what they had. But like the tattoo on her mother's wrist had said, some people were meant to fall in love but never be together. Love was a complicated thing, and neither of them seemed to have the hang of it. She shook her head, turning her attention to another nail. "You can keep them until after they get their milkshakes. Unless they want to sleep in your room with you. Then you can bring them home in the morning."
'I wanna sleep over!' Adrienne exclaimed, and Mikey joined in with his 'yeah, me too!' soon there after.

Cameron scratched the back of his head, slightly surprised. A smile stayed on his face, unaware of what he had just gotten into. "Do you want me to get them ready before I bring them back in the morning?" He looked to Chelsea, curious to know what she would be doing. He didn't ask, didn't seem like a good idea.

Chelsea shrugged again. She honestly didn't know what she'd be doing while they were gone. She hadn't been alone in four years. She felt lost when they were even sleeping. For both of them to be gone for an entire day? Scary thought. "I'll pack them a bag and you can come get it before you bring them back to your room. They like running around in pajamas though. So they can just stay in those." She pulled Adrienne into her lap as the girl rounded the table with her arms up. She hugged her close, kissing the top of her head. "Mommy loves you, little star."

Cameron nodded, deciding silence was the best choice for now. It was hard, his mind had been cluttered with thoughts, questions, and arguments all morning. But he was fine as long as he could hold it in. A smile tugged at the corner of his lips as she pulled Adrienne into her lap. Moments like that made him want to actually get along with Chelsea.

Chelsea hugged her tight for a moment, then put her in Cameron's lap. She picked Mikey up, tellling him she loved him also as she hugged him just as tight. "You two be good. No fighting." She told them, getting up and putting Mikey in her seat. "If he starts screaming, you've got to wake him up or he won't wake up." She reminded Cameron, leaning down to give each of the kids a kiss on the head. "And don't forget to bathe my children. I don't want to get them back filthy. And please, without any broken bones."

"You act like I don't know how to take care of anything.." He sighed at the lecture. Whoops, it slipped. He glanced up quickly before standing, holding Adrienne in one arm and picking Mikey up with the other. "I'll come by after I feed them." Cameron was ready to go and just spend time with the kids, afraid he might say something else and spark a fight. It wasn't worth it at the moment, and he didn't want to argue in front of the kids anymore.

Chelsea could have picked a fight, but she didn't. She just grabbed her water from the table and made her way out of the door. She wasn't all too worried about Cameron having them. She knew he wouldn't let anything hurt them. But she just had to make sure he knew.
Both the children were beyond excited to be spending time with someone. They'd been to many houses of people Chelsea trusted, but then they got stuck here and weren't allowed to go anywhere. 'We need swim suits.' Adrienne said, looking up at Cameron.

"Ah, yeah. I guess those would help, huh?" He smirked and began walking toward the door. "Does your mom have them? We need to catch her before she goes off with her plans." Cameron added. He knew he didn't have any clothes that would fit the tiny children. He never bought any. There wasn't a need to, until now. He hiked the kids up, holding them more securely as he looked around.
